Opening Ceremony

July 21. about 2 pm

This morning we suited up for the Opening Ceremony, held in the Heydar Aliyev Center, which is a great modern building, symbolising waves.

We went through security, they scanned our bags. My fountain pen was in the camera bag, which made me no problem before, but now they stopped me and carefully exained it. They acted like they never saw such a pen. Finally I could pass with it and heard about the same case from others.

We met the mentors and made group photos, this took half an hour, then getting in the ceremony hall and taking our seats took more.

The ceremony was interesting, we saw several performances of Azerbajdian's national dances, heard their national music, some classical music and people (including Nobel prize winners) gave speeches.
On the other hand, it took more than 2 hours and it was exhausing after 4-5 hours of sleep.

Afther that, we had lunch with the mentors in the same building and went to see the city. Now we are sitting in the bus.
