Today morning we wanted to wake up at 7:30 as
there is breakfast until 9. So we can have enough sleep, have breakfast and
take a shower before going. We told this in the evening to the guides sitting
in the lobby, including our's. They said it will be all ok, they will make sure
not to wake us up earlier.
Then some guide was knocking on the door very
hard before 7 am, telling us to wake up, get ready and breakfast is from 7 am.
We were very upset with her and told her to go and not do this thing again.
We had a rich breakfast, fortunately not in
that little dining hall, but downstairs in in the hall of the hotel.
We suited up and got on the buses. We had to
wait a bit on the bus, then went to a theatre where the opening ceremony was
going to be held. Before that, we had like an hour to chat around with other
students and the mentors. This was great, it is always good to see the mentors
during the olympiad.
As always, on the opening ceremony, we saw
national dance and music performances, all the teams were called one by one to
stand up for an applaus and heard speeches. The best was Gabor Magyarfalvi's
speech, who is the Chairman of the steering comitee this year. It was well
structured and he told us meaningful stuff.
After that, we took a team-photo in front of the
Olympiad’s banner. Then the guide told us that we need to hurry up instead of
socializing with others and leave fast. We did so and got on the bus, where we
were waiting for other teams a lot. Good way to make yourself taken less
seriously.
